How can I help?
Everyone's reasons for seeking counselling are different. I offer a warm, non-judgemental space to explore what's happening and work out what might help.
Counselling for Adolescents
A safe space for young people to talk, be themselves and feel heard. I support adolescents with anxiety, low mood, low self-esteem, school and exam pressure, relationships, identity and other challenges that can make life feel difficult.
Counselling for Young Adults
Young adulthood can bring big changes and new pressures. Counselling can offer a space to explore anxiety, confidence, relationships, identity, life changes and whatever else may be weighing on you.
Counselling for Parents
Supporting a young person can be rewarding, but it can also feel overwhelming. I offer both counselling for parents themselves and short-term, practical sessions to help parents understand and support their child's anxiety.
A little about me
I'm Claire, a BACP Registered Counsellor specialising in working with adolescents, young adults and parents.
My approach is warm, person-centred and collaborative. I believe that feeling genuinely heard and accepted can be the starting point for meaningful change.
I particularly enjoy working with young people and helping them find their voice and develop a greater sense of autonomy. I aim to create a space where they can be themselves, without judgement, and where we can work together at their pace.
What to expect
Taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting. I want the process to feel as comfortable and straightforward as possible.
1. Get in touch
Complete my contact form to tell me a little about what's bringing you to counselling. You don't need to write a lot — just enough to help me understand how I might be able to support you.
2. Free introductory call
We'll arrange a free introductory video call. This is an opportunity to talk about what's been happening, ask any questions you may have and get a sense of whether you feel comfortable working with me.
3. Decide what’s right for you
Take your time. There's no pressure or obligation to continue. The introductory call is simply a chance for us to decide together whether counselling feels like the right next step.
A warm, flexible approach
My work is grounded in person-centred counselling, which means I work at your pace and place the therapeutic relationship at the heart of our work.
I also draw on my experience as a Children's Wellbeing Practitioner, using evidence-based approaches and, where appropriate, practical CBT techniques to help with anxiety, low mood and unhelpful thinking patterns.
When working with young people, I believe it's important to create space for their voice and choices. Sessions can include creative approaches such as games or colouring where these feel helpful, particularly when talking directly about difficult things feels daunting.
Qualified and experienced
I am a BACP Registered Counsellor and qualified with a Level 5 Certificate in Counselling Young People. Since 2022, I have worked as a Children's Wellbeing Practitioner supporting children and young people experiencing anxiety and depression.
