Counselling for adults

A safe, supportive space to talk, reflect and make sense of things

Life can sometimes feel overwhelming. You may be struggling with anxiety, low mood, relationships, confidence or a period of change. Or perhaps you simply feel that things have become difficult to manage on your own.

You don't need to know exactly what's wrong before coming to counselling. Having someone who will listen without judgement can be the first step towards understanding what's happening and finding a way forward.

I offer a warm, confidential and supportive space where you can explore whatever is bringing you to counselling, at your own pace.

What might bring you to counselling?

You may be experiencing:

  • Anxiety, worry or feeling overwhelmed

  • Low mood or loss of motivation

  • Low self-esteem or confidence

  • Stress and pressure

  • Relationship difficulties

  • Life changes or uncertainty

  • Feeling stuck or unsure about what you want

  • Difficult experiences from the past

  • Work or family pressures

  • Difficulty managing emotions

You don't have to see yourself on this list. If something is affecting your wellbeing, it's okay to ask for support.

A space that is yours

Counselling gives you the opportunity to step away from the demands of everyday life and focus on yourself.

You can talk openly, explore thoughts and feelings that may be difficult to share elsewhere, and begin to understand what might be keeping you stuck.

I won't tell you what you should do or judge your choices. We'll work together to understand your experiences and consider what might help.

My approach

I work integratively, drawing on different counselling approaches and adapting the way I work to suit you as an individual.

At the heart of my work is a Person-Centred approach. This means creating a warm, accepting and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly, feel heard and explore what is happening for you at your own pace. I believe that feeling safe and understood is an important part of the therapeutic process.

Where it feels helpful, I also draw on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques. CBT can help us explore the connections between our thoughts, feelings and behaviours, and identify patterns that may be making things more difficult. We can then look at practical strategies to help you manage unhelpful thoughts, difficult emotions and everyday challenges.

We will work together to find an approach that feels right for you. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to counselling — the work is shaped around you, your experiences and what you would like to achieve.

Ready to talk?

You don't need to know exactly what to say when you get in touch. We can use a free introductory video call to talk about what's been happening, answer any questions you have and see whether counselling with me feels like the right fit.

There's no pressure or obligation to continue. It's simply an opportunity for us to have a conversation and decide what feels right for you.
